Lansdowne Bridge Replacement

Abergeldie collaborated with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) to deliver the Lansdowne Bridge Replacement Project, which to improve road safety with wider lanes, better approaches, and a shared path across the Mulwaree River at Goulburn. Abergeldie engaged the Roads and Maritime Services (now TfNSW) project team, design consultants, and key third parties (including Goulburn Mulwaree Council) to ensure that the new bridge across the Mulwaree River at Goulburn was delivered to the expectations of key stakeholders. Construction of 82.93m concrete road bridge over Mulwaree River
Upgrade and realignment of the existing two-lane Bungonia Road approaches to the new bridge, with sealed shoulders, shared path and kerb and gutter
Upgrade and realignment of 220m of the existing two-lane Forbes
Street approaches to the new bridge and reconfiguration of its intersection with Bungonia Road

Community Benefit

Through the use of trenchless technology, Gold Coast’s residents, businesses, and visitors have seen their stormwater network renewed without the inconvenience and obtrusive interruption that typically comes with conventional replacement methods.

As over 90% of the works were affected by the tide heights of the Gold Coast seaway, different methods to isolate the outlet pipes were trialled and ultimately successfully completed. Adjustments to the lining designs were also required as some of the works were completed underwater.
