Providing the Complex Infrastructure Needed to Build Better Communities

Central Interceptor Project

Abergeldie is collaborating with Ghella to deliver the Central Interceptor Project. This project will provide additional wastewater capacity to serve Auckland’s growing population while reducing the frequency and volume of wastewater overflows, preserving the area’s beaches, estuaries, and waterways. The Central Interceptor Project will involve construction of a 14.7km long (4.5 diameter) underground tunnel from Grey Lynn to Māngere Wastewater Treatment Plant, for collecting and transferring wastewater. Once completed, the tunnel will be one of the longest in New Zealand.
