In the last couple of months our very own Site Engineer, Alicia Tran, has been busy coordinating the WaterAid fundraising challenge with the support of Abergeldie. She has hosted Sip and Paint nights, movie nights, guess the lollies in a jar and even a trivia night to raise money for those less fortunate around the world who is living without decent toilets, safe and clean drinking water and adequate sanitation.
The aim of the fundraising challenge is to raise awareness around Australia and globally. It’s a great initiative as it encourages everyone in Australia to participate and raise money for a valid cause.
Abergeldie is proud to be a major sponsor of WaterAid. Supporting and partnering with WaterAid is an important way that we deliver on our mission to build better communities. Our partnership dates back years and in our tenure, we are proud to have grown to a point where we can support WaterAid by sponsoring and attending the WaterAid balls in Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales.
Alicia has made a tremendous effort to support and raise funds for WaterAid. And, although she has not quite reached her humble target, Alicia says ‘it’s about more than just reaching a target, we are helping to raise awareness and every little count; as little as $35 can buy hygiene education to those who need it.’
So far, Alicia has helped raise nearly $1,500 for WaterAid and we commend her for her achievement.
There is still time to donate. Head to her fundraising page to see how you can make a difference in someone else’s life.
