On Saturday 24 August, our two teams completed the 100km and 50km Sydney Oxfam Trailwalker. A remarkable effort from both teams in completing this endurance challenge.
Our 100km team finished in 34 hours and 24 minutes, ranking 197 out of 348 entries. The team rose early to start their challenge at 7am on Friday 23 August and trekked all day and all night, finishing up on Saturday evening at around 5:30pm. They could not have done it without the efforts and energy of their dedicated support crew, always ready to lend a hand the whole way along the trail. Congratulations to our walkers; Ren Greentree, Michael Doran, Daniel Mcpherson and Micah Day. A huge thank you to our support crew; Vanessa Mcpherson, Edward Farrell, Alicia Tran, Lillian Simpson, Maxima Julia and Isabel Nobre.
Our 50km team finished in 13 hours and 18 minutes, ranking 64 out of 212 entries. The team started their walk at 7am on Saturday 24 August 2019 and crossed the finish line as one whole team at around 8:30pm. As with the 100km team, the 50km team constantly looked out for each other and were determined to leave no one behind, finishing the challenge as one team and celebrating their achievement together. As always, we had a dedicated and committed support crew who generously donated their time to follow the team at every checkpoint along the trail. Congratulations to our walkers; Rick Szabo, Matthew Boyle, Denis Quigley, and Thomas Bouvy. A huge thank you to our support crew; Catherine Bouvy, John Vitali and Rozlynne Clarke.
Thank you to all those who helped our teams raise over $17,000 for people living in poverty around the world. We look forward to participating next year and hope that our walkers recover well this week.
