2016 CCF NSW EARTH AWARDS – ABERGELDIE WINS !!!
ABERGELDIE COMPLEX INFRASTRUCTURE OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT OF CIVIL CONTRACTORS RECOGNISED ON INDUSTRY’S NIGHT OF NIGHTS.
The Civil Contractors Federation New South Wales Branch has held their annual Earth Awards for 2016 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Sydney on Friday 24th June 2016.
At yet another sold out night for Earth Awards, 400 members of the NSW civil construction industry came together to recognise and celebrate excellence in civil construction. A record 31 finalists were presented to the audience, having been assessed on their performance in Construction Management, Environmental and Social Management, and Project Management.
Abergeldie had two projects featured as finalists for three awards:
- Lennox Bridge Portals (Projects Category $5m-$10m and the overall Work Health Safety Project of Distinction)
- Southern Coalfields Vent Shaft (Projects Category $10m-$30m)
Greg Taylor CEO ofAbergeldie Complex Infrastructure said in a company release on Monday “Both projects were very deserving as finalists in these much sought-after awards and showcased well against the competition in their categories. I am proud to say that Abergeldie was successful in winning two of these awards, both for the Lennox Bridge Portals Project.”
In an indication of how crucial this industry is to the continued economic growth of NSW the guest of honour on the night was the Hon. Duncan Gay MLC, Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight. Minister Gay gave a brief address in which he recognised the contribution made to the State by the many companies present, and those represented by the Civil Contractors Federation NSW.
Mr Taylor went on to say, “We were extremely pleased when the Lennox Bridge Project won the CCF NSW Earth Award for its category and exceptionally proud and honoured, when we won the overall NSW Work Health Safety Project of Distinction”
The Work Health Safety Project of Distinction Award, is issued in memory of all workers with CCF NSW Membership who passed away in a workplace accident. The award was judged and issued by SafeWork NSW and is considered to be of the highest honour that can be bestowed on a company, recognising outstanding achievement within the Civil Contracting Federation.
Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Contractors Federation NSW, David Castledine, said on the night “This is a great time to be in the civil infrastructure industry in NSW, and the winners and finalists tonight are excellent examples of the high quality of NSW civil contractors.
The winners will go on to the October National Earth Awards”, said Mr Castledine.
