Abergeldie is partnering with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) to deliver the AC Feeder Stage 2 Upgrade Project. Part of the overarching Power Supply Upgrade work, the AC Feeder Stage 2 Upgrade is a key component to enhance network resilience. This work will improve the way power is delivered into our rail network, allow for increased services and ensure improved backup power supply when needed.
Scope of work includes:
- Upgrading the existing 33kV Feeder 713 between Yagoona SS and Revesby SS to meet future line rating and uprating approximately 5.4km of the Feeder;
- Upgrading the existing 33kV Feeder 7Y2 between Yagoona SS and Sefton SS to meet future line rating and uprating approximately 3.3km of the Feeder; and
- Upgrading the existing 33kV cable EA653 between Revesby SS and Ausgrid’s pole PE24544 to 531A.
Abergeldie has diverse rail experience ranging from track reconditioning projects and station upgrades to substations and High Voltage and Overhead wiring works. Recently, the team delivered the Waterfall Enabling Works, a milestone project which was part of More Trains More Services Program for TfNSW and we continue to collaborate with the Australian Rail Track Association (ARTC) to deliver critical track reconditioning projects across the Hunter Valley Region.
David Koo, Abergeldie General Manager said, “Our rail team continues to focus on delivering collaborative and innovative turnkey solutions that provide our clients with a high-quality product and value for money. This project is a fantastic result for our rail business and one that will bolster our growing HV/Traction team.”
