The Shone Ave Stage 2 project was officially opened on Monday 27 April by Wollongong Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery. The project involved road realignment, creek realignment and the construction of a new 70m long 4 span bridge on Shone Avenue over Robins Creek as well as the addition of a shared user pathway. This and was the second stage on the Shone Ave project with the first stage also completed by Abergeldie in 2014.
The project is part of the West Dapto access strategy, a long term plan to accommodate the growing population in the area. The time lapse video above shows the installation of the 72 planks of the bridge.
